Christmas
I just finished watching the Saturday Night Live Christmas special last night, capped off with Paul McCartney singing “Wonderful Christmastime”…
“ The mood is right
The spirits up
We’re here tonight
And that’s enough
Simply having a wonderful Christmas time”
It’s upbeat, fun, and spirited.
Capturing the essence of Christmas!
Cynthia loved Paul and his music.
(We once heard him in concert in Detroit)
But more than that, she LOVED Christmas!
She loved the anticipation and the surprise of it.
She savoured the gathering of family and friends.
Christmas Eve was her favourite time of the year.
She loved to buy gifts for people, and was often known to forget where she had hidden gifts purchased months in advance!!!
The lights, fresh cranberries in the chandelier candles, some good cedar rope to trim the doorways, a well-decorated tree, the carol-sing by the piano, special appetizers… but most of all, the gathering together.
It’s what she cherished the most… “we’re here tonight, and that’s enough”.
These are challenging and distressing times we live in, on so many levels.
With Cynthia’s spirit forever in mind, here’s wishing you a ‘wonderful’ Christmastime, wherever and with whomever you find yourself this year.
Hoping that this upcoming Christmas holiday gives us all a renewed feeling of energy, hope, and spirit for the year ahead🌄🌠
